Description

Background

In order for us to setup the QA, we need to have more information about this Maxthon Portable version.

Solution

Ask Maxthon the following:

  • What is it exactly?
  • How many users does it have?
  • Is it technically significantly different to the other Maxthon builds?

With this information we can make an informed decision whether to tackle the Portable version with QA or not.

As I didn't receive any answers yet, I don#t know, how this can be invalid. Please document within this issue.

Did I forget to loop you in?

This is the response I received for our questions:

Maxthon Portable has the same code as China/Intenational build, but it don't need to be installed. Users may just download and extract it with WinRAR or 7-Zip, then he can run Maxthon himself.

Few users are using the portable build.

Why do we build the portable version.
There is a website of portable apps: http://portableapps.com/ . This site used to build Maxthon Portable based on our official installer version, and these self-made are unstable , so we release the official portable build.
