Description

Background

Currently, our build tools repository is being published under the GPLv3 license. This license places some restrictions on "derivative works" (copyleft) which matters for the extensions built with it:

  • Some build tools code like bootstrap.js is being incorporated into the extensions.
  • Source code archives contain both the extension and build tools.

This affects the Element Hiding Helper extension which is licensed under MPL 2.0.

What to change

Relicense build tools under the MPL 2.0 again which is a more permissive license.
