This is a derived issue from what was reported in #2697

Environment

Windows 8
Firefox 37
Adblock Plus 2.6.9.3930

Ubuntu 14.04
Firefox 39
Adblock Plus 2.6.9.3958

How to reproduce

  1. Remove "adblockplus" directory within Firefox user profile directory
  2. Remove Adblock Plus (if installed)
  3. Restart Firefox
  4. Check contents of "patterns-backup1.ini" inside newly created "adblockplus" directory

Observed behaviour

Created backup file only contains header information (see attachment).

Expected behaviour

Created backup file contains header, subscription and filter information.

Note that using Firefox 39 this behavior can be traced back to at least Adblock Plus 2.2 (released 2012-11-21) which is why, so far, I'd assume that it was introduced by a Firefox update.

Mass-closing all bugs in Adblock Plus for Firefox module, the codebase of Adblock Plus 3.0 belongs into Platform and User-Interface modules. Old bugs are unlikely to still apply.
