Description (last modified by philll)

Background

The agreement has been reached that we would like to make the Acceptable Ads whitelisting procedure more accessible and make the access for the prospective applicants via the adblockplus.org home page a bit easier (instead of 3 clicks only 1). Thus, a more direct access is needed.

What to change

At the adblockplus.org home page, replace the link with label "Screen shots" with a link labelled "Acceptable Ads" linking here.

Simona, the target URL you gave above is to https://adblockplus.org/en/acceptable-ads#application. However, adblockplus.org is targeted at end users above all else, and I doubt that's what we should show them when they click on a link that say "Acceptable Ads".

Do you object to linking to https://adblockplus.org/en/acceptable-ads instead?

Well we discussed this with Job and Till and I think we did agree on the link to the application section.

The aim is to make it a bit easier for the advertisers and since we have NO other website to do that, this is just a minor attempt. Moreover you can get to the Acceptable Ads section from "configurable" as you mentioned in the discourse discussion on this topic.

Adding Till and Job to discuss it here - can someone sum up why you think that linking to #application directly is better here? IMO it's pretty obscure.

Literally everyone visiting adblockplus.org is a user. They click on the link that says "Acceptable Ads" and it will take them to a page that says "How can I get my website whitelisted", then they have to scroll up to learn what this is actually about.

On the other hand, if we don't link to #application directly, the few non-users that visit adblockplus.org will see a "How can I get my website whitelisted?" link in the table of contents.

As I already mentioned in the discourse discussion, we do not have another website for company users, so we NEED to assume that they got to the ABP website. And if they do so, they will search for something targeting them. That is why i suggested the "For advertisers" link, which doesn't bother end-users too much, as they know, they can ignore it but directly attracts company users.

Manu here. I have to agree with @fhd here. The new link doesn't say whether it is for advertisers or users. It is just a generic one, so if doesn't say "for advertisers" or "apply" and links to #application then it is misleading to me. I think having a second link to /acceptable-ads is already a step forward.
