Description
Background
As the start of ABP at Firefox startup is not fast enough to not significantly delay the whole Firefox opening, we decided to let Firefox start even if ABP is not fully loaded yet. Apparently, this leads to pages with ads and tracking in some cases like #418. Until we were able to speed things up sufficiently, we now want to allow the users to choose whether ABP should definitively start with Firefox, even if this delays the whole startup.
What to change
Allow users to enforce ABP being loaded completely at Firefox startup, even if delaying it

When I said "create a ticket if this issue still occurs" in #549 I didn't mean that you create an exact copy of it. Feel free to modify the ticket description to add information to it such as:
- Did you make use of the extensions.adblockplus.please_kill_startup_performance preference that was introduced in #549?
- Which browser and extension versions are you using?
- What steps can be used to reproduce this issue?
As soon as that's done, I'll reopen the ticket and we can investigate what the issue is.

Sorry, it wasn't quite clear what you meant. I thought it was obvious from all the comments in #549 that the fix doesn't work, so I didn't include additional information. But to answer your questions, yes I enabled the setting introduced in #549, browser and extension versions include all versions released since the feature in #549 was introduced, and it can be reproduced by having some windows and tabs open with web sites that normally contain ads, configure Firefox to open the previous session on startup, and finally restart the browser.
Unfortunately the nature of the issue is that it can't be reproduced deterministically (I guess there's a race condition so the result depends on whether Adblock or the web sits ads finish loading first), but a lot of the time there will be ads in the newly opened session. I want to emphasise that this is not a convenience issue, but a SECURITY ISSUE due to malware served through ad networks, and, less important, a privacy issue due to tracking.
Please add this feature to prevent ads from loading at startup - thanks!
