Description
Background
Sometimes a single client / host in the office network consumes so much bandwith that the internet connection becomes unusable for all other users. This should be avoided by configuring a bandwith limit / traffic shaping on the firewall.
What to change
Explore options of pfSense to limit bandwith per host / IP then update this ticket with more details.
Ideally it should be possible to define peak and off-peak limits (e.g. office hours and evenings / weekends, thinking of backup or other scheduled transfers at night)
Also it would be nice to have different settings per subnet (e.g. normal clients and servers).

- Resolution set to rejected
- Status changed from new to closed
Since moving into the new Cologne office with the 200 Mbit/s connection, we didn't have the problem of a single client occupying the whole line. So we dropped this ticket until it becomes a problem again.
Is this still the case? if so I think is safe to move this ticket to the hub since there has not been any change
