Description (last modified by mapx)

Environment

Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 running 4.3, rooted but stock operating system.
Latest Chrome version (but also occurs with stock browser and other apps like games)
ABP 1.2.1 build 318 w/ Easylist filter (allowing acceptable ads)

How to reproduce

Generate a large amount of network traffic (multiple tabs in a browser, game that has constant communication). The problem is it appears random. It normally takes 1-2 days of steady use before it stops (with the normal android error popup about the application stopping unexpectedly). It has not yet stopped without some sort of network traffic occurring though.

Observed behaviour

Application crashes

Expected behaviour

Application continues to work

I have already uninstalled/reinstalled, cleared cache and data and same result. Eventually it will crash.

Hi,
Same problem, same popup:

On a Galaxy Note 3 (Android 4.4.2 stock, no root), Adblock Plus (version 1.2.1.328 build 328) crashes randomly on a regular basis in Firefox Mobile Beta. But Chromes crashes too, if I remember. Wifi or 3G, no difference.
The Filter subscription is on "Liste FR+EasyList". Others don't change anything.
I have Avast, GreenPower, Battery Widget Reborn, Skype, Twitter, Viber, AppOps 4.3/4.4, Messenger, SwiftKey...
I've tried many different versions of the app, including those in development.

It seems like the crash happens quicker when the "Next" link (or equivalent) is pressed on different websites.

In the app, filtering has to be turned Off then On, otherwise Internet become inaccessible.

  • Platform set to Unknown

Could you please try to monitor your memory usage? Android fequently kills Adblock Plus, once the memory is close to used up. Despite continuous optimisations, there is not much we can do there in those cases.

Not enough information here. We have known issues with memory and our proxy code, so I'll close this here as 'too broad' for now.
