Hiding preroll ads prevents content from playing in a video element

Description
When an error event is fired from a video element, as a result of it's src being blocked, the video element is then hid by checkCollapse setting display:none.
When the same video element is reused to play the actual content, you can't see it.

Don't you think this is a design flaw? Perhaps the video should not be hidden if it will later be used to play content?
