Description
Environment
ABB 1.5.3 (and older)
iOS *
iPhone/iPad *
How to reproduce
With the release of ABB 1.5.3, the requests for antiadblockfilters and exceptionrules have gone up by 10% while the requests for notification.json has stayed persistent. Since the former two filter lists are opt-in (Settings->Ad Blocking), this indicates a problem with either download frequency or download requests. The requests for the former lists should not have gone up with a new release. Thus we'll need to find out what caused this rise in downloads.
As this can't be reproduced within the app, it can only be reproduced by our data team:
- Look up download statistics of antiadblockfilters, exceptionrules and notification.json before July 4th 2017 (release of ABB 1.5.3)
- Look up download statistics of antiadblockfilters, exceptionrules and notification.json after July 4th 2017 (release of ABB 1.5.3)
Observed behaviour
The download statistics for antiadblockfilters, exceptionrules went up by 10%
Expected behaviour
The download statistics for antiadblockfilters, exceptionrules should have remained
Additional information
The download frequency is dictated by each filter list's meta data:
- antiadblockfilters should be downloaded once within 24h.
- exceptionrules should be downloaded once within 24h.
Additionally there are only 3 changes within 1.5.3 which could have caused this.
