Description

Background

I used to be able to temporarily turn off / disable AdBlock Plus, that option seemed to disappear when I updated Firefox the other day (which seemed to have also updated AdBlock Plus). Some sites, for example TheRichest or TheThings (was browsing through the list http://www.thethings.com/15-accidental-selfies-from-people-who-want-to-insult-our-intelligence/ when I discovered this) can detect ABP and disable their content. Since these sites are the worst with ads, I don't want to whitelist them.

What to change

I used to be able to temporarily turn off AdBlock, such as when visiting a site which detected it and put up a fuss (side note, sites should not be allowed to detect ABP and do this). I liked that I could even middle-click the ABP button to quickly turn it off and on. But today I find out it doesn't work any more. I also tried clicking the ABP icon to get the menu, Turn Off or Disable isn't in there at all. The only thing I can do is Whitelist, "Disable On This Site", and I most definitely don't want to give any site that does this the honour of whitelisting.

(I expect this is cross-platform, but I'm using the most recent Firefox, version 57.0, on Windows 7 64-bit, and it looks like the most recent ABP, 3.0.1)

You can click ABP icon, click the first entry there ("enabled for this site" entry) to disable ABP for the current site (and again click on the same first entry to enable again ABP for the site)

For filter issues (detecting, ads etc) use easylist forum: http://forums.lanik.us/
