... because it's too old to get any more use out of it.

  • Create backups when necessary (probably not)
  • Remove hard-drives and similar devices that could still be of some use
  • Dispose of the remaining components

Just for clarification: Ben's old PC is an HP Compaq tower, Intel Core i3-2120T @2,6GHz; 4 GB RAM, 500 GB HDD (SATA)

I actually found a last use for it: I added 4 GB of RAM from another old PC and gave it to Paco to run his Windows VMs for his malware analysis project on it.
After that I will remove the HDD and dispose the machine.
