Environment

Windows + Vista 64bit + Firefox + English
ABP version Mozilla build 2.6.9.3945

How to reproduce

  1. Install latest ABP extension on Firefox Browser
  2.  Load page  http://www.republicservices.com/
  3. Block  the 'Login' element  as shown in screenshot 1

Add the shown  filter 

  1. Refresh the page and observe.

Observed behaviour

'Login' element is NOT blocked, but  css elements are added in filter.

republicservices.com/_layouts/15/1033/styles/Themable/corev15.css?*

Expected behaviour

Selected element shall be blocked.

Thank you for this bug. An incorrect filter rule will be shown. According to the ABP of Safari, you can block this element only with:
republicservices.com##.profile

From how I see it, the extension should suggest one of these filters:

  • republicservices.com##.profile to hide the profile button
  • www.republicservices.com/publishingimages/blue-header-sprite.png to block the image
  • www.republicservices.com/Style%20Library/CSS/main.css to block the stylesheet that sets the image

Mass-closing all bugs in Adblock Plus for Firefox module, the codebase of Adblock Plus 3.0 belongs into Platform and User-Interface modules. Old bugs are unlikely to still apply.
