Description (last modified by scheer)
The user should be notified in some way that they must remove the proxy settings they had entered upon first installing the app. Tech-savvy users are able to understand that the proxy is in place to serve the Adblock plus app, but not so tech savvy users would not understand that they must remove these settings. As I stated in my comment below, I would imagine this to be a difficult thing to achieve during uninstallation of the app, if not impossible. I would suggest that maybe we apply the suggestive text of removing the settings from Wifi after uninstallation to the same dialog box that appears when we ask the user to change the wifi settings in the first place.

Environment
Rooted device: No
ABP version 1.3.0.359
How to reproduce
- After Installation, the user must (displayed message) change proxy-settings to "localhost" port 2020.
- everything is OK, Browser (e.g. Firefox) works.
- After Deinstallation, given proxy settings are still there, blocking internet connection -> see screenshot.
- doesn`t matter if the device is restarted.
- Proxy settings must be set to "None" or deleted to make the internet connection work.
Observed behaviour
Internet connection doesn't work
Expected behaviour
Internet connection still works after deinstalling of ABP App. Maybe proxy settings should be removed during uninstallation or message should be displayed to inform the user to change settings.

Looks like it might be possible for us to run some code when ABP is being removed: http://stackoverflow.com/a/12068130/606036

Same problem occured from my end, I also was wondering why my internet connection / proxy settings is not working after deinstalation.
I thing this is not a bug, but a feature request which is realy necessary to avoid confusion.

This is a valid point. From what I can see, there is at no point a notification to the user that they need to remove the proxy settings after uninstallation of the app. I could imagine this would be hard to implement some kind of warning during uninstallation, but maybe it could be added to the wording when the user is asked to apply the proxy settings in the first place?
