Description (last modified by mario)

Background

As per user request and consistency with other browsers we'd like to show the top and bottom bar (i.e. "URL bar" and "Settings bar") as soon as a user taps the bottom edge of the screen.

What to change

Display the top and bottom bar as soon as a user taps at the bottom edge of the screen while the top and bottom bar are hidden.

The hit box which responds to the tap does not propagate the user input to the underlying website and has the following dimensions:
Width: 100%
Height: 20 points

The hit box is only active as long as the top and bottom bar are hidden. If the top and bottom bar are shown the hit box is inactive and propagates user input to the website.

It seems that Safari simply ignores clicks on, say, bottom-most 20 points or so. When there is a clickable content at the very bottom of the page, it is not clicked but instead the browser bars are brought up. Please confirm that this is what you are asking for. We have no other idea how to recognize what should happen when technically the webpage is being clicked. Mind that neither Chrome nor Firefox does that - it clicks the content as visually expected.

Please confirm that this is what you are asking for.

Correct, it is the very same behavior as intended by this issue.
I've adjusted the description to reflect this more correctly.
