Description
Environment
Unsure if this an Adblock Plus or Firefox limitation We adding the following filter in Easylist: data:text/html;base64$popup But it doesn't seem to stop these base64 popup urls. Somewhat wishful thinking it'll fix this issue.
Firefox Nightly + Adblock Plus Dev
How to reproduce
- Clear cookies on multiup.org (if visited previously)
- Open site:
https://www.multiup.org/en/download/2b88015adaf827e5fa41f68169ca345f/DDLValley.cool_Downloads_1.5gb-splits.part1.rar
(Anti-adblock warning may show).
- Click the Download button.
- A popup will generate from the data:text/html;base64,...
...
Observed behaviour
base64 popups are still being allowed :(
Expected behaviour
Ideally we can and should stop these urls. There are many sites now taking advantage of this now, (see pornhub and other pornsites)

#4417 is a bit vague in its report to say its the same.

yes, I'm talking about the same issue as in your example. The popup type request isnt catched in the blockable items list.

Possibly, given the variety of the base64popup urls now being generated. I wasn't aware of eztv now doing it, though it wouldn't surprise me other torrent sites do the same thing.

- Resolution set to duplicate
- Status changed from new to closed
Probably #4417 is the same issue ?
