Windows 7 x64 SP1 • Firefox 33.0a1 (2014-07-07) • Adblock Plus 2.6.3.3840
EasyPrivacy+List • Adblock Warning Removal List
How to reproduce
- Start a new instance of Firefox.
- Go to http://vimcolorschemetest.googlecode.com/svn/html/index-c.html
Observed behavior
With Adblock Plus enabled, the Firefox process uses about 1.4 GB of memory.
Expected behavior
With Adblock Plus disabled, the Firefox process uses about 360 MB of memory.

I also get about 1.6 GB memory usage in Opera.

Solutions for this issue are already being discussed at #521 and https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=988266
Both of those are specific to Firefox/Seamonkey/Thunderbird. Are there any tickets or third-party bug reports that apply to Chrome and Opera?

We currently have #145 that Wladimir already mentioned in his blog post on memory consumption.
