Currently, we only accept donations via PayPal.

What to change

Create adblockplus.org/*/donate to allow donations from other payment providers.

A donation page makes sense but it makes no sense to use the same design like adblock or disconnect. I don't see any reason for that. If it has no time presure i can do the design for that on february 25. or 26.

Why not? It is a simple design, why should we differentiate and delay? I think it makes perfect sense because it limits the resources for coming up with an alternative design / implementation.

I want to avoid unnecessary delays. We already identified some buttons, I only need feedback for a good color scheme for these buttons.

Because we would do the work twice. Once fast and poor and then the wright way. If you have something ready where i only have to pick up some colors i don't be in your way with this step in forcing it.

I wouldn't want to downright copy Disconnect or AdBlock, but I don't think that's the intention.

in gerneral i would say that you'r right but it's like i said, there are only less than 2 weeks in making it wright. And we know how it is common. If something exists it takes way longer in improving it because there would not that much need for it anymore. I'm a fan in making the things wright from the beginning :)

True, but as long as we have a lack of resources in the design area, we can only tackle the most important stuff. I don't think the donation page is awfully high on that list.

Our intention is to use Twitter's Bootstrap for now. Even though it seems overused (due to its popularity) it is a good short-term solution without having a designer involved.

I think we should be careful with huge third party frameworks when it comes to handling money. Do we really need Bootstrap for a couple of radio buttons? Anyway, technical discussion, shouldn't happen here.

The donation page is coming along nicely, and we're slowly getting ready to launch this. I want to start preparing for step 2:

"Drive more traffic to the new donation-page, while staying far away from becoming too obtrusive."

The following will need to be done/discussed:

• Changing links on the FRP
• Changing links on our ​Contributions Page
• Relocate the "Donation" paragraph
• Discuss possibilities to add a link this to the Chrome Settings Menu (e.g. under the tab "General")
• Discuss possibilities to add a link (or change it in the "Contribute" button) in the Firefox extension
• Adding a "Donate" link in the footer of adblockplus.org
• Any other places where we want to link to our Donation Page.

Who of the devs has time to help me with this?

We already show a "Contribute" link on the top of the page which I think should be enough.

Not sure. I think there is a big difference between contributing and donating. I want to make sure that enthusiastic users who are willing to donate are not confused on our website, and get go to the donation page in one click.

Tonight we'll collect feedback, to make sure everything is working smooth. From tomorrow on, we'll be driving traffic to this page by updating links. Also, it's important to note that this will be a project which we can and will improve/optimise continuously over the following months.
