Environment

http://beta.adblockplus.org/en/faq_basics

How to reproduce

  1. Navigate to URL above in IE9.
  2. Select [Show me how this is done] to display an animation.
  3. Observe no animation is played and error occurs.

Observed behaviour

The animation is not displayed/played (see IE9-Anims.jpg) and a JS error occurs in the console:

The animation should play without errors.

Have you tested if this works properly on the existing site, or is it broken there too?

Animations were targeting modern browsers from the very start, never meant to run in Internet Explorer. So I'm not surprised at all that they don't work in IE9, but I'm mostly certain that the same issue exists on the current site. In that case this shouldn't block #2035 and IMHO priority should be P4.

  • Blocking 2035 removed
  • Priority changed from Unknown to P4
  • Ready set

  • Summary changed from [adblockplus.org Anwiki to CMS migration] Animations error in IE9 to Website tutorial animations error in IE9

That makes sense. For later reference:

IE8: The links to display animations do not appear at all.
IE9: The links are displayed but animation fails and causes the error reported here.
IE10/11: The links are displayed and the animations play correctly/don't error.

  • Tester set to Unknown

The comment above is still the case in IE8/IE9.

Replying to ire:

This page no longer exists :(

It does for me if I remove the beta subdomain from the URL, so http://adblockplus.org/en/faq_basics .
