After a long discussion we're rejecting this feature for two reasons:
- Asking a user whether he wants to open a URL in the clipboard any time a URL is found, can be intrusive.
- Visualising the (usually "hidden") clipboard on screen raises privacy concerns especially when taking into consideration that this feature might unintentionally show the content of the clipboard to third parties, who the user didn't intend to show their clipboard to.

@Misha, after your analysis I'm thinking of re-opening this very issue again, as it looks like this is a feature users care about. Do you happen to have access to any analysis data which addresses the two concerns raised in the comment above? After giving it another thought, I think we could work around those concerns by making it a opt-in feature. But seeing other browsers having this as a standard feature, our concerns might have been unfounded.

In regards to intrusiveness, you'll notice that with the exception of Dolphin, most browsers only show the copied URL when the user taps into the URL bar, thus it's no more intrusive than suggesting previously visited URLs (and equally as useful).
If we were go to the popup route vs. in URL bar route, I still wouldn't worry too much about it as long as the user can ignore it and go about their business without manually dismissing it (on Dolphin, tapping anywhere outside the notification causes it to dismiss). I don't have access to tons of user opinions on this particular matter, but what I can tell you is I didn't see a single review complaining about copy/paste URL popping up. =P
In regards to the privacy matter, that is something I would not have thought of personally. Especially if we only pull the first item off the clipboard solely to use in the URL bar. While again I have no data currently, I can say I did not see it as a complaint in reviews. I would be happy to run some user testing on a prototype to see how our users in particular feel about this, but I would not personally be concerned based on my current knowledge.
I hope this helps! I think it would be a great feature to add for iOS. =)

Re-opened as per comments above. This feature, however, needs to be re-worked completely. Will loop in product management to extend the specs accordingly.

DESIGN TENTATIVE
You might want to have a different appearance than Kitt. See the attached screenshot for Kitt appearance. It's a self dismissing popup, like Android Toast. If tapped in time (3 secs or so), the URL copied in other app is opened in a new tab.
