ABP blocks an image thousands of times in a row, never ends

Environment
OS: Linux Lubuntu 14.04 kernel: 3.13.0-29-generic.
Browser: SRWare Iron Version 34.0.1850.0 (260972).
Adblock Plus version: Adblock Plus development build 1.8.3.1200.
Enabled Filter lists:

How to reproduce
- Right click on the top left image. (TCEC in white letters)
- Select "block element" for ABP.
- Reload the page.
- If a very similar image still appears on the upper left side, repeat processes 2 to 4.
Observed behaviour
Once reloaded and a white space replaces the image, the counter of blocked ads will rise without limit and reaches thousands of blocked ads after a few seconds. As if ABP tried to block the image over and over. This makes the computer slow to react.
Expected behaviour
After I block an image, I expect it not to appear anymore (nor any white space) after reloading the page. I do not expect to see a white space nor do I expect to see the counter of blocked ads to rise without limits.
That behavior is triggered for me when I block the right top image (the donate one)
However for the left top image, better hide that element, using:
Sometimes, removing (blocking) an element in the page, the page will be broken (and the counter will go on continuously).
For the placeholders still visible, it's probably a duplicate (issue):
